This is a sample letter to your President/Prime Minister/etc. regarding the refusal of any country to stand up against the Islamic regime’s accession to the UN Commission on the Status of Women:
Dear (name of your President/PM):
I am writing to you in outrage at the refusal of [your country’s name] to stand up and deny a seat on the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women to the most virulently misogynistic, gender apartheidist regime in the world, the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Your government declined to uphold its duty to stand against the well-known brutalities the Islamic regime inflicts upon women. By seating the Islamic regime on the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women, not only do you give the regime ill-deserved legitimacy on the international stage, but you allow that government to propagate its misogyny throughout the world, given the Commission’s central role in setting global policy on gender equity and the advancement of women.
I fundamentally reject this action by your government and demand as a citizen of [your country’s name] that you immediately take steps to ensure the rapid removal of the Islamic regime from the UN Commission on the Status of Women.
