Sakineh Ashtiani

Mission Free Iran, cooperatively with the International Committee against Stoning, launched the International Campaign to Save Sakineh Ashtiani on June 26, 2010, on behalf of Ashtiani’s children, Sajjad and Saideh Ghaderzadeh.

We participated as one of three lead organizations on this campaign through October 15, 2010, when we separated ourselves from the official campaign in order to have more freedom of action; however, we maintain close contact with the International Committees against Execution and Stoning, and we cooperate with them whenever needed.

We continue our work for Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, her children Sajjad and Saideh Ghaderzadeh, and her lawyer, Houtan Kian, until they are released. One of our key objectives is to criminalize the practice of stoning at the global level via a UN resolution. Our campaign is an ongoing battlefront.
