On 4 September 2017, activists in Washington DC gathered at Union Station to stage a flash mob to raise awareness of the ongoing hunger strike of political prisoners in the notorious Rajaei Shahr prison in Iran. The political prisoners on hunger strike in protest of their conditions included Reza Shahabi (a labor leader at the Vahed Bus Drivers’ Union), Saeed Shirzad (a child labor and rights advocate), Saeed Mansouri (a political activist), Ibrahim Firouzi (a Christian pastor), and Zanyar and Loghman Moradi (members of a politically-active Kurdish family).
