Reza Shahabi and Behnam Ebrahimzadeh Write from Evin Prison: Stop the Executions and Release the Political Prisoners Immediately

Honorable people of Iran, humanitarian people of the world:

As you know, there are tens of labor activists and a large number of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience currently in jail under false allegations, accused of the crime of struggling for their rights. The offenses of these people have been their endeavors to organize workers to attain their rights, and their opposition to injustice and rightslessness. This is while the government of Mr. Rouhani has pretended to moderation by releasing a number of prisoners who mainly were insiders. We who are condemned to imprisonment in Ward 350 of Evin Prison, while expressing our happiness for the freedom of those who have been released during this time, declare first of all that the commotion about releasing political prisoners was nothing more than pre-election fanfare; [in fact], release of these prisoners has been the result of internal pressure and international protest. We prisoners of Ward 350 of Evin Prison declare that not only is there no news of releasing the tens of imprisoned workers and a large number of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, but the pressure on them has rather been intensified, and the number of executions has multiplied. Insult and mistreatment of prisoners has reached new heights, and [jails are] rife with the neglect of the medical needs of sick prisoners.

We are not offenders or criminals, and have not committed any crime, to take so much abuse and insult, and to be condemned to imprisonment for years. Our question is this: Would government institutions declare to society what our crimes have been? Would Seda va Sima (1), the budget of which is paid for through the exploitation of us workers and the taxes of the people, dare to arrange a debate with us so people also know our crimes? Are Mr. Rouhani and the state judicial system prepared to agree to a visit of an international delegation to Evin Prison? We have a heavy indictment against those who have taken our freedoms and deprived us of being beside our loved ones.

Our first demand is immediate and unconditional release from prison.

Our urgent demand is that all prisoners who are in need of medical care are taken care of according to acceptable standards, and those who are sick and in need of treatment only obtainable from outside the prison be given furlough.

We demand that the prison guards immediately and forever cease their humiliation and abuse of prisoners, and that preparations be made to ensure that meetings with relatives and lawyers can take place in a respectful atmosphere.

We demand the deployment of international delegations to visit Evin Prison and all prisons, both political and non-political, in Iran.
We are against the punishment of execution.

These are some of our rightful demands.

We are against execution, and our final emphasis is to underscore the [demand to] immediately halt all executions.

We call on the honorable people of Iran and humanitarian people all over the world to actively support our demands and be our voice everywhere.

زندان اوین، رضا شهابی و بهنام ابراهیم زاده:

اعدام ها را متوقف و زندانیان سیاسی را فورا آزاد کنید
مردم شریف ایران، مردم انساندوست دنیا

همانطور که میدانید در حال حاضر دهها فعال کارگری و تعداد زیادی از زندانیان سیاسی و عقیدتی با اتهاماتی واهی و به جرم مبارزه برای حق و حقوق خود در زندانند. جرم اینها این است که تلاش کرده اند کارگران را برای احقاق حقوق خود متشکل کنند، و علیه بیعدالتی ها و بیحقوقی ها ابراز مخالفت کرده اند . این درحالی است که دولت آقای روحانی با آزاد کردن شماری از زندانیان که اکثرا هم “خودی” بوده اند ژست “اعتدال” به خود گرفته است. ما زندانیان محکوم در بند ٣٥٠ زندان اوین ضمن اعلام خوشحالی از آزادی کسانی که در همین مدت از زندان آزاد شده اند، اعلام میکنیم اولا غوغا بر سر آزادی زندانیان سیاسی و وعده های پیشاانتخاباتی یک هیاهو بیشتر نبوده و آزادی همین تعداد نیز بخاطر اعتراضات داخلی و یا جهانی صورت گرفته است.

ما زندانیان بند ٣٥٠ زندان اوین، اعلام میکنیم که نه تنها خبری از آزادی دهها کارگر زندانی و شمار بسیاری از زندانیان سیاسی و عقیدتی نیست، بلکه فشار بر روی آنها شدت یافته و اعدام ها نیز چندین برابر شده است. توهین و بدرفتاری با زندانیان به حد اعلای خود رسیده و بی توجهی به معالجه و دوا و درمان زندانیان بیمار بیداد میکند.

ما مجرم نیستیم و جنایتی نکرده ایم که باید مورد اینهمه اذیت و آزار و توهین قرار گیریم و به سالها زندان محکوم شویم. سوال ما این است که آیا ارگان های حکومتی میتوانند به جامعه اعلام کنند که جرم ما چه بوده است؟ آیا صدا و سیمائی که هزینه هایش از طریق اسثتمار ما کارگران و مالیات از مردم تامین میشود این جسارت را دارد که مناظره ای با ما ترتیب بدهد تا مردم هم از جرائم! ما مطلع شوند؟ آیا آقای روحانی و سیستم قضائی کشور حاضرند با ملاقات یک هیئت بین المللی از زندان اوین موافقت کنند؟

ما کیفرخواست سنگینی علیه کسانی داریم که آزادی را از ما گرفته اند و ما را از بودن در کنار عزیزانمان محروم کرده اند. اولین خواست ما آزادی فوری و بدون هیچ قید و شرطی از زندان است. خواست اضطرای ما نیز این است که تمامی زندانیان سیاسی که نیاز به درمان و معالجه دارند، با استاندارد قابل قبولی تحت درمان و معالجه قرار گیرند و بیمارانی که احتیاج به معالجه در بیرون زندان دارند به آنها مرخصی لازم داده بشود. ما میخواهیم که به تحقیر و بدرفتاری های روزمره زندانبانان با زندانیان فورا و برای همیشه پایان داده شود و امکانات ملاقات با بستگان و وکلای زندانی در فضائی توام با احترام فراهم شود. ما خواهان اعزام هیئت های بین المللی برای بازدید از زندان اوین و کلیه زندانهای کشور اعم از سیاسی یا غیر سیاسی هستیم. ما مخالف مجازات اعدامیم. اینها برخی از خواست های بحق ما است.
