Irrigation Workers in Kurdistan on Strike Today to Demand Wages Not Paid for Five Months

Iran – Kamyaran, 1 November 2012. Workers of Tara Company, a contractor responsible for the irrigation of Bilvaar field, went on strike today. The contractor has not paid workers’ wages for the past 5 months. Striking workers gathered in protest outside the company’s building in the village of Baatmaan. HRANA reported that the protest action in Baatmaan was continuing at the time of receiving the news at 19:52 local time.
