On Sakine Mohahammadi Ashtiani’s flogging for the second time

The news of Sakineh Ashtiani’s recent flogging sentence and punishment by another round of 99 lashes due to “spreading corruption and prostitution” because an unveiled photo of her, which turned out to be from another individual, that was published in The London Times on August 28, 2010, stirred media attention and invoked international outrage against this barbaric act by Islamic Republic throughout the world. However, the one who leaked the alleged photo of Sakineh to Times, is “strongly” denying the new flogging sentencing for Sakineh on behalf of Islamic Republic of Iran’s judiciary system. We of course “strongly” wish to believe that Sakineh’s new sentence was not real but the details and evidence provided indicate otherwise. The following details are to provide you with the current account of the situation:

1) The accuracy of this new sentencing has been confirmed a few times by both Sakineh’s son Sajjad and her attorney Mr. Houtan Kian during their interviews with various media outlets.

2) As we reported before, Islamic Republic had prohibited any visitation with Sakineh for the past two weeks. Nor her children and neither her attorney have been allowed to see her or talk to her over the phone. This in fact is an indication that the barbaric regime in Iran wanted to cover up flogging Sakineh based on a false allegation from the international community.

3) Exactly for the reason that Sakineh was denied any visitation or contact, her children and Mr. Kian her attorney had to contact two of Sakineh’s former cellmate who were released just recently and found out about the flogging sentence by this brutal barbaric regime which also has been confirmed by other sources, e.g. prison’s workers.

4) Sakineh’s former attorney who insists on denying this sentencing reasons that there are no legal basis for Islamic Republic judiciary system to issue such cruel and inhumane punishment! First of all, let’s not forget the lawlessness existing in Islamic Republic’s judiciary system where the rule of law is based on terror, cruelty, crime against humanity and specially against women. Secondly, based on the information we received, Sakineh Mohammadi was sentenced to a second round of 99 lashes based on prison’s interior disciplinary regulations and this sentencing was not part of her ongoing and current case, a practice that regularly happens in prisons.

At the end we would like to bring these facts to everyone’s attention, people and the media all around the world, that Sakineh is being imprisoned by Islamic Republic of Iran and her execution sentence by stoning is still in effect and has not been over turned. On Saturday, August 28th she received the confirmation on her execution sentence as was told to be prepared as she would be executed the next day. It has been almost two weeks that we have not had any news about her. It is under these circumstances that we received the news about the second round of flogging, 99 lashes, from her current attorney and her children. We should not allow allegations made by those who try to defend Islamic Republic regime in Iran and its barbaric acts to stop us from fighting to save Sakineh’s life and distract the effort made internationally to save her and millions like her.

جزئیات خبر شلاق زدن دوباره سکینه محمدی آشتیانی

اعلام خبر محکوم شدن سکینه محمدی آشتیانی به ٩٩ ضربه شلاق به جرم “رواج فساد و فحشاء” به بهانه انتشار عکسی بی حجاب از شخصی دیگر در تایمز لندن مورخ ٢٨ اوت ٢٠١٠، بازتاب وسیعی در مدیا و محافل بین المللی یافت و موجی از خشم و نفرت در سراسر جهان برانگیخت. اما در این میان کسی که خودش عکس جعلی را برای تایمز فرستاده است، از قول مقامات دادگستری رژیم آنرا “شدیدا تکذیب” کرده است. ما البته “شدیدا” آرزو میکنیم که این خبر صحت نداشته باشد اما متاسفانه شواهد خلاف آنرا میگوید. لذا جزئیات زیر را به اطلاع عموم میرسانیم:

١) این خبر توسط سجاد پسر سکینه و همینطور وکلیل فعلی او آقای هوتن کیان قویا تایید شده است و این دو در مصاحبه های متعدد با رسانه های مختلف جزئیات آنرا بیان داشته اند.

٢) همچنانکه قبلا هم به اطلاع رسانده ایم جمهوری اسلامی نزدیک دو هفته است که سکینه را ممنوع الملاقات کرده و حتی مانع تماس تلفنی او با فرزندان و وکیل خود شده است. این خود میتواند اقدامی باشد تا خبر شلاق زدن سکینه طبق قوانین وحشیانه اسلامی و تازه آنهم بر مبنای یک مدرک جعلی به گوش دنیا نرسد.

٣) دقیقا به دلیل ممنوعیت هرگونه تماس خانم آشتیانی با بیرون زندان، فرزندان سکینه و آقای کیان از طریق دو نفر از هم بندی های سکینه که از زندان آزاد شده اند از شلاق زدن وی توسط مقامات وحشی جمهوری اسلامی مطلع شدند. بعدا این خبر از طرف منابع دیگر نظیر کارکنان زندان نیز تایید شده است.

٤) از دلایلی که در تکذیب این خبر توسط وکیل سابق خانم آشتیانی بیان میشود، گویا هیچ مبنای قانونی برای اعمال چنین مجازاتی در جمهوری اسلامی وجود ندارد. اولا، فراموش نکنیم که در جمهوری اسلامی بی قانونی برقرار است و فقط یک چیز حکم میراند: رعب و جنایت و ترور علیه مردم و بویژه زنان! ثانیا، طبق اطلاع ما سکینه محمدی طبق ضوابط انضباطی درون زندان و خارج از پرونده جاری او فورا به ٩٩ ضربه شلاق دیگر محکوم شده است. امری که بارها در زندان اتفاق می افتد.

در پایان میخواهیم توجه همه مردم دنیا و رسانه ها را به این جلب کنیم که حقیقت این است که سکینه در زندان جمهوری اسلامی است، حکم سنگسار همچنان بالای سر او است، حکم اعدام او حتی به دایره اجرائیات رفته است، همین شنبه گذشته ٢٨ اوت او را تهدید به اعدام در روز بعد کردند و بالاخره نزدیک دو هفته است که کاملا از او بی خبریم. در چنین شرایطی و طبق مدارک و منابع بالا، فرزندان و وکیل رسمی او به ما و به تمام دنیا اطلاع میدهند که سکینه برای بار دوم ٩٩ ضربه شلاق دریافت کرده است. نباید اجازه داد اظهارات کسانی که متاسفانه میخواهند در نقش دادستان و مدافع جمهوری اسلامی ظاهر شوند به مبارزه جهانی و انسانی برای نجات سکینه آشتیانی و میلیونها سکینه و سجاد که در دستان جمهوری اسلامی اسیرند خللی وارد آورد.
