ICAE Press Release, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani

ICAE Press Release #19: Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani’s case review postponed; final judgment will be made in 20 days

Sakine Mohammadi Ashtiani’s case review postponed
Final judgment will be made in 20 days

In our last press release we reported that the Supreme Court in Iran would issue a statement on Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani’s case on July 21st, 2010. Today we have been informed by our sources in Iran that the Islamic regime has postponed a decision in Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani’s case for another 20 days. According to the sources, all documents of Sakineh’s case have been sent to the 9th division of the Supreme Court.

We believe that Sakineh is still at risk of being executed or even stoned to death. The aim of the Islamic regime of Iran is clear: by pushing back the date of the final verdict they hope to buy time to escape the pressure of the international community. The Islamic regime is waiting for the international news coverage and the pressure to abate to then continue with their criminal activities.

We hope that people worldwide will continue their efforts to save Sakineh from execution, stoning and prison, and we hope that the international media will continue to report on her case. Only with international pressure and news coverage can we save all ‘Sakinehs’ in Iran. The execution and stoning sentences of Sakineh and anyone else in Iranian prisons must be revoked immediately. We demand the abolishment of the death penalty, stoning and qesas (Islamic punishments).

  3. ENOUGH ALREADY! Five years in prison, 99 lashes, living under the constant threat of execution??? How can the government of Iran possibly justify such medieval and inhumane treatment of anyone in the year 2010? It’s time to move into the 21st century before the rest of the civilized world leaves you behind. Seriously, wake up!!!

  5. To the wise leaders who will judge this woman!
Her children have said she is innocent. Why would they say so when they have always been taught your laws? That is someone is guilty they should pay the price! So if they saw and say she is innocent, then why does it fall on deaf ears? If they knew she was guilty would her children not ask for her to die? Obviously they know she is innocent of this crime or they would not have gone to the extreme they have to save her!
I as a westerner do not believe in your methods of execution or your way to make a judgment upon a person you deem guilty.
Our countries don’t decide by our gut feelings as we go by both DNA proof and a death sentence is only allowed if its proven to be true, beyond a reasonable doubt. Not by looking at a person nor the word of another s as their word could be a lie.
I do know you say you believe that Jesus was a prophet.
I watch your religion on my television, and they speak good of him.
By hearing this it gives me hope that your Allah and my belief are not so different. Jesus showed mercy by stating let any man without sin cast the first stone. Are any of us without sin, dear judges?
    You are wise men.
I’m certain you will see by all the evidence provided and by the outcry of humanity to let this woman go after all she has suffered.
The loss of her husband to men who killed him and her being denied to be with her children to raise them.
I beg you as a human being that please let Sakineh go free.
The world is watching you. \
Be wise in your judgment lest tomorrow you stand in her place where others will judge you!
Will they give you mercy if you do not give Sakineh the mercy of Allah who is loving to his children, and in such a case where all evidence shows this woman is innocent that she should be set free?
In his name the one God you say is in your heart, is the truth who you call Allah who was told to you by your prophet Mohammad! I implore you to show his mercy to her which is freedom! Not death!
I beg you to let her go home and show the wisdom of your ways.
    Peace be with you!
As a Christian, and as a human being, I beg this of you!
    Do what is right.
Do not destroy any innocent person for your dislike of us the western world due to our outcries.
We are aware that you don’t always agree with how we live in our daily lives. You have that right to say we aren’t as you see the world in your view but imagine that if we are crying out for her, maybe not all of us are as bad as you think.
All evidence provided.in her case and by her children!
Please consider, we are doing this for the sake of one innocent individual and should one day one of your children stand before a judge, would you not want them freed if your heart knew they were innocent if we cried out for their sakes?
Such as Sakinehs children have stated she is?
Please wise judges! Let Sakineh go free!
I implore you to do this for me. One person who hopes we can one day live in a just and peaceful world!
Do it for me, and all others who have pleaded with you with love within their hearts. Do this for justice, not to punish us for asking this of you! Hugs Tylicia

  6. Once more I beg the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and all his officials to show mercy to this woman.
Our Lord Jesus Christ and only Savior said:”FORGIVE”
Mr President do you know the word:”FORGIVE”?Have you ever heard it?Are you perfect Mr President?Who is perfect and without sins to throw stones to that woman?
