Media in Support of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani

In this post is a video made by Divinity, who read the letter of Sakineh’s children to the world and was moved to act in support of Sakineh and her children.

Also in this post: a flyer that you can take to community events and pass out to raise awareness of and support for Sakineh’s case:

  1. Stonings like other forms of death by torture are a measure of a society’s terrible failure. Capital punishment by any means, if perhaps not equally terrible, is nevertheless de facto, failure, failure of a nation to address its inequities. It is well known that when capital punishment is no longer carried out against a society’s offenders violent crime diminishes. But as for stoning women in punishment of real or supposed private sexual acts this is an insidious crime. Stoning even one woman for this reason is a crime against humanity, and yet another example of domination by one group of another. The domination of women by men is no different than the domination of black people by white. Just as the religious intolerance of Moslems and Hindus that has so often in this century resulted in struggle for dominance, cruel deaths and massacres, is indicative of moral failure, compassion and respect for the rights of all individuals regardless of race creed colour or sex is the hallmark of civilization. People of the world call upon Iran to stop stoning and to free Sakine Mohammadi e Ashtiani.

  2. Dear Iranian authorities, Asslam Alaikum. This case of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani is beyond my comprehension. I am a shiite muslim woman who tries to abide by my religion as best as i can and Iran is a country that i have always revered. I am sure about one fact that Iran’s Supreme leadership has always respected women’s rights and her freedom as ordained by our Creator. If some one commits a sin and harms only oneself then i think she should not be punished in such a manner and why she alone? where is her accomplice. Now for stoning to death : i think it’s too gruesome a punishment to be tolerated by any civilized society in present times I request you to spare her life and spare all other reasonable muslims from further embarrassment as we are being subjected to by non muslim societies. Just set a good example of clemency and forgiveness and leave her this matter between her and her God. May Allah bless you.

  4. FREE SAKINE ASHTIANI let her go back to her children.
FREE ALL PRISONERS THAT ARE UNJUST IN ISLAMIC PRISONS.
Islam in some countries lives in the medieval ages, savage, barbaric and backward. Islamic republic, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and many more are amongst these countries with their Islamic law. Most men in these countries and those who are not educated and belong to the government are kings such as king ali, Khameneie, king janati, king larijani, king ahmadinejad, king Rafsanjani, king mortazavi, and all of the rest king ayatollahs, ( In Iran, we have several million of king basig, king Lebas Shakhsies,, king torturers and more.that all work and kill under the direct order of the king of the killer king Khameneie) Iran will be free and people will smell the air of freedom when the Islamic republic goes down . With the death of Islamic republic, all of our women will breathe easy and by saying that please, free Sakine Ashtiani and all other women that are in Islamic Regimes prison and let them go back to their family. Death to Islamic Republic and God bless Iran and Freedom
